EnChristo is a ministry that feeds the needy living in the downtown Spokane area. Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church partners with the University of Whitworth students in helping to make sack dinners and to deliver them to the downtown area when the students are on break. Not only does this ministry provide food to those in need, but it also provides christian fellowship.

| Adult Education |

Our adult education leaders transform Sunday morning at Whitworth Church into a quality Christian learning conference with several seminars to choose from. Leaders include experts in the fields of theology, discipleship, biblical scholarship, and practical Christian living. In fact, quality adult edication is a distinctive of our church.

| Alpha |
 |
Alpha is a short, practical introduction to the Christian faith suitable for Christians and for those wanting to investigate Christianity. It includes eleven weekly sessions and a weekend retreat. This inspirational retreat is a key part of the course, as well as being great fun.

| Angel Tree-Local Mission Involvement |
 |
This ministry reaches out to children with a parent currently serving a prison term - in some cases providing an adult mentor as needed.

| Belize |
 |
A team of parents and senior high students traveled to Belize in 2009. They helped paint and repair buildings and worked on other projects that needed fixed. New relationships were made with the local village people, while existing relationships among the parents and students grew stronger. Another mission trip is planned for the of Summer 2011.

| Bell Choir |
 |
At Whitworth Presbyterian the Chancel Bells use 5 octaves of Schulmerich handbells. We ring bells during worship about once per month playing traditional hymns and original handbell compositions. If you have some interest in participating or learning about this type of music you may contact John Wilson, the director, or come to a Tuesday evening rehearsal.

We like to mix things up for the summer. LIVE, Element and Sunday School take a break as we host several other events and service opportunities that fit the summer schedule. There will be ultimate Frisbee, Silverwood, Marniers game, Camp Spalding, and a mission trip.

| Child Care Center |
 |
Our goal to establish a warm and caring environment where each child is free to: discover about him/her self, other people and the world around him or her; retain and develop his/her own unique sense of creativity. Our center is a non-profit self-supporting ministry of WCPC and is licensed by the state of Washington.

| Childrens Church |
 |
Children’s Church is offered to children ages Pre-K through 2nd grade during the first worship service each Sunday. Children begin by worshipping with their families for the first half of the service. After the Time for Young Disciples (Children’s Sermon) children are invited downstairs to Children’s Church. We offer worship, Bible lessons and crafts during this time. Parents pick up their children after the service.

WCPC more than welcomes college students. In fact, college students are a regular part of our church life as we embrace our close relationship to Whitworth University. If you are a Whitworth student, a student from another school, or a college-age career person, we would love to have you be involved in every area of our church life.

| Contemporary Worship |
 |
Worship is our Holy Spirit empowered response to God’s great love, shown in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our whole lives belong to God, and we gather together on Sunday as a community to praise Him together.

| Ghana-International Mission Involvement |
 |
In 2007 our church financed a vocational center in rural Ghana. In 2009, a second team was sent to Ghana to visit women who were falsely accused of witchcraft and cast out of their villages. The next trip to Ghana is scheduled for the fall of 2010.

Serving in ministry is a service to God and man as an obedient servant. A Christian servant ministers to God and man in acts of love. Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another (1 John 4:11).God is doing amazing things through the communities at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church. There are currently over 70 groups for growing and serving.

Our Presbytery has established a long-standing relationship with the K’ekchi People of Polochic Presbytery. Mission Trips visit the area annually.

| High School - Element |
 |
Do you crave a place to hang out with old friends and make new ones? Do you need a place where you can work through questions about life and faith? Then Element is the place for you! We will challenge one another to grow in faith and encourage one another to live for Christ. Come join us on Wednesday nights, 7:00-8:30 in the youth room. Element meets September through May.

| Home Bound Visitation |

Our Deacons Ministry regularly visits our members who have become home bound. Along with a wonderful visit the Deacons bring weekly packets which contain our weekly worship bulletin, Staying Connected news bulletin and a CD of the weekly Sanctuary worship service so that you can stay up-to-date with the happenings at WCPC.

| Interfaith Hospitality Network |
 |
This ministry is one of the few that allow homeless families to stay together. Partnering with other churches, approximately four times a year, WCPC provides shelter, food, and love to homeless families for one week at a time.

We have a blast playing crazy games, hanging out with friends and learning about God’s amazing ways. LIVE meets September through May.

| Opportunities to Serve for Seniors |
 |
With the life experiences that our seniors have to share, there are many areas in which they can serve and mentor our younger generation. Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Youth and Children’s Sunday School, or the Nursery Ministry. Some seniors have become adoptive grandparents for children whose real grandparents live far away. There are local mission opportunities within our church and community such as the Westminister Food Bank, EnChristo, or global mission ministries such as Ghana.

| Special Events Childcare |

Childcare for church special events can be provided upon request through the function organizer. In order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your child, reservations for childcare are required prior to special event. Special Event Childcare is for children ages 4 weeks-6th grade.

This is a multicultural-multigenerational worshiping community started in 2002 by and for urban Native Americans and others living in Spokane. It is a place where the Good News of Jesus Christ is lived and shared.

Jr High and High School students meet in the Youth Room at 9:45 on Sunday Mornings. We usually begin with a bit of worship or a brief game. We hear Biblical teachings from a variety of teachers, participate in small group discussion, and pray for our community. Sunday School meets September through May

Sunday School is offered to all children ages Pre-K through 6th grade September through May from 9:30-10:30 each Sunday morning. Kids enjoy worshipping together with fun praise music before learning the Bible point of the day in Large Group. Children then move into age appropriate Small Groups to discuss and learn how the Large Group Bible point relates to each of them and how they can apply God’s Word to their everyday lives.

| Westminster House and Food Bank |

The Food Bank provides fresh fruits/vegetables and other items to those in need.
Westminster House is a missioner’s residence providing a beacon of hope to youth.
They offer ministries like the Homework Helpers who help with homework for 1st through 4th graders and Logos which is an outreach ministry to children in West Central Neighborhood.
